I have to admit, I never heard about this guy, before I attended a duo concert with him and saxophone player Don Braden some days ago. Made and impression, and I had to purchuse this cd. Mössinger seems to be classically trained. He sure knows his Chopin, but also his Bud Powell and more recent pianists. This cd is a mixture of solo, trio and quartet tracks, and the solo pieces came about because he simply liked the sound of the piano in the studio. Not a sensational recording, but at least a rather new face for me, and I am always eager to explore. Overall, pretty straight-ahead stuff, with some great piano playing. Haven't found any reviews for this one yet. Maybe he is just to obscure?
Have never ever heard of him, but description made me curious. Thanks for sharing!
